What are the 0% cards available for customers looking to make a Bank of Scotland balance transfer?
Bank of Scotland have now reduced the number of credit cards they offer to new UK customers. The bank now no longer offers the very long 0% balance transfer credit cards, that they once did. The current 0% transfer offers from Bank of Scotland are shorter, than the current leading 0% cards available in the UK.
However, we still see many UK customers asking questions about which credit card can you use to make a Bank of Scotland balance transfer?
We have seen numerous questions about this recently. This includes all of the following questions:-
- Can you transfer from Bank of Scotland to MBNA?
- Bank of Scotland to HSBC balance transfer?
- Bank of Scotland transfer to Lloyds credit cards?
- Can you transfer Bank of Scotland to a Nationwide balance transfer card?
- Bank of Scotland credit card balance transfer to Halifax?
There is one important issue to be aware of when making a balance transfer. That is, the UK credit card issuers, including Bank of Scotland, do not allow balance transfers to be made when both of the credit cards involved, are issued by the same company.
Bank of Scotland is now a part of Lloyds Banking Group. The Lloyds banking group now also owns the Halifax and MBNA credit card companies. As a result, this enlarged group is likely to reduce the transfer options available to current Bank of Scotland credit card customers

Bank of Scotland 0 Credit Card
Bank of Scotland is a completely different company from the Royal Bank of Scotland. Some customers do get confused and assume that Bank of Scotland, and Royal Bank of Scotland, are one and the same company. However, this is not the case. The RBS balance transfer credit cards are issued by NatWest bank. There is no link between the two banks.
Bank of Scotland 0% credit cards are available to their own customers with a current account held with the bank. In addition, the cards are also available to customers whose current account is held with other banks.
When you are planning to make a balance transfer, be careful with your choice of card. The last thing you want to do is to apply for a credit card, only to find out too late that the cards are issued by the same company. If you do then, as a result, you will find that balance transfers are not allowed between them.
This is then likely to leave you paying interest on your outstanding balance. With current interest rates on many UK credit cards having recently increased, this could be an expensive mistake.
