HSBC Balance Transfer Existing Customers
Existing customers of HSBC, who do not already have a credit card with the bank can apply for any of the 0% transfer cards available above.
However, the current HSBC 0% balance transfer offer is not available to any of the HSBC existing credit card customers. If you currently have a HSBC credit card, then like many other banks, HSBC does not allow a transfer from one HSBC issued credit card to another.
A transfer cannot be made from the M&S credit cards to HSBC, for example. The Marks and Spencer balance transfer card is also issued by HSBC Bank. As a result, transfers from M&S to HSBC, or vice versa, are not allowed.
In addition, HSBC also issue the first direct credit cards. Customers who have one of these cards, are also not permitted to make a transfer to any of the other cards issued by HSBC.
There are HSBC balance transfer offers for existing customers available from the other UK credit card companies. These 0% credit cards will accept a transfer from the existing customers’ HSBC credit card.
Most balance transfers in the UK should complete within 5 days or less. Customers can usually check their online account to see if the balance transfer has gone through. Over a bank holiday period, you may need to allow extra time for the balance transfer to clear.
