Many other UK credit cards will charge an additional 2.75% fee, or higher, on purchases made outwith the UK. A £1000 hotel bill in Spain for example, would result in a foreign transaction fee of at least, £27.50. This would give a total bill of £1027.50 after the credit card fee.
With either of the Nationwide balance transfer credit cards and their unlimited commission-free offer, there would be no additional fee. As a result the total bill would remain at £1000, saving the customer at least £27.50.
